If Someone’s Case Get Dismissed, Can The Court Keep The Bail Bond Money For a Different Charge?
If they owe fines for a previous case, not a current case, the county can file an attachment to the bond money. But this takes action on the part of the county attorney. And this may not be a high priority for them. If no pending civil suit is filed, the county clerk must release the bail bond money back to the defendant or family member.
