Why Pay a Bail Bondsman if I Have the Money?

A misdemeanor case in Austin can last anywhere from six months to a year. If you have the money available and don’t run the risk of going broke while the case is pending, it might make more sense to post a cash bond over a surety bond. A personal bond is usually everyone’s first choice because it is the free way to get released, but not everyone can qualify for one. If you can’t get a personal bond, but don’t want to use what could potentially be all of the money you have for a cash bond, or you need that money for other obligations, then a surety bond might be the way to go. Something to also think about is your job security after an arrest.
